Garden building, attached wall and gate piers. c1840. Ashlar
and coursed stone, slate roof.
Garden building approx 5m NW of No.5 Headingley Road and No.2
Cumberland Road (qv), the west end house of Headingley Terrace
(qv): small, 1 storey, central French window with corniced
hood on console brackets, flanking tall windows; angle
pilasters support entablature with moulded cornice and
blocking course with raised centre, hipped roof with central
light.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Walls enclose Headingley Terrace on W, S, and E sides, approx
2m high and 175m long overall, shallow pedimented coping
stones. 3 sets of gate piers: on Cumberland Road a narrow
gateway with ramped stone lintel and the wider carriage
entrance to terrace with square pedimented piers; a similar
set of piers at the Grosvenor Road entrance.
The buliding is reputed to have been built as an artist's
studio.
