Stable range, now houses and workshops. Dated 1865. Rockfaced
Bulwell stone with ashlar dressings and gabled and hipped
slate roofs. Various coped stone stacks.
Plinth and first floor sill band. Windows are mainly original
glazing bar sashes. 2 storeys; 9 window range. Symmetrical
front with projecting centre and end bays, and at the rear, a
stable yard enclosed by ancillary buildings.
Square central entrance block, 2 storeys, has a moulded
round-arched carriage entrance with shafts and dated double
keystone, flanked by buttresses. Upper stage has a Venetian
window, chamfered corners, and shallow pyramidal roof. Side
ranges have on the ground floor a narrow window, then 3 wider
windows with keystones, all segment-headed. Above, 3 windows
with wedge lintels. Right end bay has a Venetian window
flanked by doors with overlights and cornices. Above, a window
flanked by smaller windows with hood moulds, all
segment-headed. Left end bay has single window and door, and
above, a single segment-headed window.
At the rear, a hipped central block, 2 storeys, with a large
segment-headed cross casement and above, a loft door and crane
flanked by single windows. Single storey lean-to ranges on
each side. The yard is bounded by other single storey
buildings, with an entrance on the south side.
INTERIOR has a central tack room with a door flanked by curved
windows. On each side, rendered stables, one retaining
matchboard wainscoting.
