GV II*

Pair of shops, originally dwellings. c1720. Brick with
stuccoed dressings and plain tiled roof. 3 storeys, 4 bays
with 18-pane sash windows in moulded stuccoed architraves with
segmental heads with stressed keystones. Narrow shop front to
left, then wide early C20 shop front with central door and
foliate consoles to fascia. Stuccoed string courses and angle
quoins. Overhanging moulded eaves cornice below high parapet,
with gabled dormers behind it. Axial and gable end stacks to
rear of roof. Original staircases survive, to full height in
No.29A, with turned balusters, moulded tread ends, and dado
panelling. Early C18 wall-panelling and fireplaces with
bolection-moulded surrounds in upper rooms.
