Bowood estate cottage, early C19, squared ironstone rubble with
thatched half-hipped roof and octagonal paired ridge stacks.
Large C20 south end addition. Original cottage is 1½ storeys,
picturesque cottage style with iron small-paned casements. Two
casement pairs above under eyebrows, central triple casement below.
North end wall has small ground floor canted oriel. The thatched
cottages of Sandy Lane are an outstanding example of an estate
village in the picturesque manner.
