Stables. C17, extended and altered in mid C19. Coursed and squared limestone, with mid C19 brick
to left gable end and brick right-hand extension; C19 and C20 plain tile roof Rectangular plan.
Single storey with loft. Chamfered surrounds to central doorway and small flanking window
openings; C19 bay to right has flight of steps leading to loft doorway. Right gable end has earlier
flight of stone steps, with recess beneath for dog kennel, leading to loft door. Similar C17 chamfered
openings to rear. Interior noted as having chamfered bridging beams and front chamfer to beam
adjoining hay drop; 2 pairs of raised cruck blades with tenoned collar and trenched purlins. A very
early surviving example of a stable building with original external detail and internal features which
include a notable raised cruck roof; the fittings are late C19 or later in date.
