Late C18/early C19 terrace. 3 storeys and basement. Bath stone with rusticated
ground floor. lst and 2nd floor sill courses. Moulded cornice and blocking
course. Low pitch gable end slate roof. Each house has 2 windows to upper
floors and 1 window on ground floor, recessed sashes, most with glazing bars
intact. No 93 has a false window on each floor to right hand. The lst floor
windows have small scrolled bowed iron balconies. No 91 has a mid C19 canted
bay of Gothic character with delicate detail: 3 lights, each with 4 centred
arch, foliate capitals to columns dividing, parapet decorated with quatrefoil
panels. 1 basement window to each house. Recessed doors of 6 fielded panels
with reeded edge, moulded door heads, arched wreathed and radiating wrought
iron fanlight with cast lead arrow ornament. The terrace is slightly set
back from the street raised on a stone plinth projecting level with pavement.
Steps up to doors cut through plinth with iron railings with anthemion heads
to newels.

Nos 71 to 99 (odd ), The Volunteers Arms and Nos 103 to 113 (odd) form a group.
