Early C19. 2 storeys and attic. Brick on stone plinth. Moulded stone cornice
and blocking course. Slate roof. A 3-bay front divided by slightly projecting
wide brick piers, and with whole right hand bay of slight projection. Small
central half octagon bay dormer with small paned casements. 3 tall windows,
3 panes wide, on lst floor. 2 large windows, 4 panes wide, on ground floor,
moulded sill courses between piers in lst 2 bays. 6-panel door to right hand
with flush reeded panels and 3-pane arched and radiating fanlight, slightly
recessed in large brick arch. Interesting design of rather striking character.
Nos 71 to 99 (odd), The Volunteers Arms and Nos 103 to 113 (odd) form a group.
