GV II

Village school, now house. C19. Cary stone with Doulting stone dressings; plain clay tile roof between coped gables;
stone chimney stacks with moulded tops. Single storey, 3 bay South elevation. To bays 1 and 3 plain chamfer mullioned
windows, 4 lights with small pane casements; to bay 2 a false gabled chimney breast: lean-to hipped porch against East
gable, along the eaves course being carved an inscription to (unseen) born 1811, died 1842; further extension to rear.
Almost a text book building, intended to harmonise with Church of St Leonard nearby (qv), it could well also be by G E
Street.
