Late Cl8. Former stable block of Brownstone House including cottage, now
one property. 2 storeys red brick. The centre and right hand part with mansard
pantile roof, the left hand part with hipped old tile roof. The stable block
has 2 arched entrances with chamfered stone surrounds and oval loft window
over. The right hand part formerly had an early C19 canted bay window on
1st floor and on ground floor a stable door, window and 4 panel door. The
elevation has now been altered in early C19 style with 2 sash windows to 1st
floor and Regency type shop front on ground floor.

Brownstone House, No 48 and the Castle Hotel form an important group at the
South end of New Park Street.
