C18. Built on the site of a c14 building in which John Fletcher the dramatist
was born In 1579. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows. 2 dormers. The house
has been slightly spoiled by having been refaced (not recently) with cement.
Wooden eaves cornice (renewed). Tiled roof. Good doorway with fluted Doric
columns,, ediment, semi-circular fanlight and 6-panel moulded door. On each
side of this is an unusual Cl9 cemented bay window with a semi-domed top
surmounted by caps at each end, containing 3 lights in each window, the centre
light being flat with a segmental head and the outer ones curved with flat
heads. All glazing bars missing.
