Shooting box, now house. Early C19 and early-mid C19, altered C20. Older
part cob, rest of brick, all rendered and painted; Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys,
3 + 3 bays. Garden elevation: 3 wider bays on right- are the older part, the
3 left-hand bays the added service range with single-storey 1-bay former wash-
kitchen and bake house set back slightly on left and 1930s lean-to garage
addition on right, 3 right bays: central part-glazed door having 9-pane
glazing over 2 panels, in wood frame with square panels at top corners and
masked by C20 lean-to conservatory. 16-pane sashes in reveals with projecting
sills. 3 left bays: mid-late C20 part-glazed door on left below fanlight
with radial glazing bars which formerly was the only ground-floor opening
and was further to right, its place now taken by a mid-late C20 small-pane
bow window. On 1st floor two 16-pane sashes as before and a relocated 8-pane
sash in formerly blind opening. Roof continuous over both sections, hipped,
with late C20 skylight; brick stack to rear of ridge on right, one on left
of older section removed, and tall one at left end. Wash kitchen has mid-C20
small-pane metal window; roof hipped on left. Rear: right bay has door of
6 flush panels (top 2 glazed) in C20 swept, hipped-roofed, porch. 12-pane
sashes apart from C20 window inserted on 1st floor between right-hand windows.
Small lean-to at centre of older (left-hand) part. Garage has double board
door with strap hinges. Interior: older part has stone fireplace with
pilasters and roundels to top corners in left-hand room and plain stone
surround to fireplace in rear corridor; other fireplaces and grates later
C19; panelled doors, shutters and cupboards; on 1st floor elliptical archway
between front and rear; roof has wood-pegged, collared, queen-strut roof
trusses and staggered butt purlins.
