Cottage and house under one roof. Early to mid C18. Coursed squared
sandstone, stone slate roof (continuous with No. 55 to right q.v.).
Rectangular plan, one and two units respectively. Two storeys, one and two
bays; lst-floor band; No. 51 doorway to right, No. 53 has central doorway,
both with plain surrounds; one and two windows on each floor respectively,
all of 3 lights with plain surrounds; and flat-faced flush mullions; ridge
chimney, gable chimney and gable copings with kneelers at left end. Rear of
No. 53 has inter alia two recessed mullioned windows at ground floor of 3 and
4 lights the latter with original diamond lattice glazing. Interior not
inspected.
