House, mid C18 core with major alterations of early and late C19. 2 storeys.
Timber-framed and plastered, the front elevation encased in gault brick in
early C19. 3 windows wide, with shallow corner pilasters. Hipped slated roof
with internal chimneys of gault brick. Sash windows, the frames perhaps mia
C18, with moulded cast iron lintols and small-pane sashes of c.1840. 6-
panelled early C19 entrance door, recessed between reeded pilasters; well-
carved mid C18 console brackets support a shallow pediment above. At the rear
a sash window retains its mid C18 thick glazing bars. To the left of entrance
is a 1-storey forward-projecting wing of c.1900 in gault brick. The deeds of
the property are said to indicate that a new building was erected on an empty
plot in 1754; this may also be the date of the entrance gates to the
property (see item 9/77).
