Late C18, altered. Full width pedimented front. 3 storeys red brick above
ground floor. 2nd floor painted sill course. Brick dentil string across
base of pediment which has lunette. 3 windows, centre false, to upper floors,
sashes, glazing bars intact. Panels below 1st floor windows. The ground
floor formerly had a pair of early C19 shop fronts and a panelled door
in panelled surround. It now has a modern double shop front in frame of
Bath stone with pilaster, in keeping with character of building.
All the listed buildings on the South-West Side, South-East Side, Market
Hall, Market Cross and the Fountain form a group.
Also all the listed buildings on the South-West Side form a group with Nos
1 to 18 (consec) Northgate Street.
