House, former schoolmasters house. Mid C19, possibly with an earlier core. Main
house has plastered rubble walls and exposed brick buttresses to rear and crosswing
in partly plastered cob and C19 brickwork; rubble stacks topped with C19 brick;
slate roofs. 2 room plan main house with end stack facing east. Lower service
block on right (north) end with service crosswing projecting forward at the end. 2
storeys and cellar to main house. Symmetrical 2-window front to main house. 18-
pane horned sashes to ground floor and 12-pane hornless sashes to first floor.
Central door contains panels of leaded coloured C19 glass and overlight with glazing
bars. Plain 4 bay verandah across front on floor of enormous slate flags. Plain
iron posts with curving braces and glass monopitch roof. Main roof is gable-ended
and plain wooden eaves cornice. Service block includes C19 and C20 casements with
glazing bars and gable-ended crosswing is partly open on ground floor. Service door
alongside main house and at right end of verandah is a large slate-lined cistern
said to have been used for brining sides of pork. Rear elevation has 12-pane
sashes, some with horns and the ground floor windows are larger than first floor
windows. Interior not inspected.
