(East Side)

No 26
SU 0061 4/259

II GV

2.
Corner site including No 33 Bridewell Street qv. Late C19. 3 storeys red
brick on stone plinth with stone quoins. Stone cornice and coping to parapet
and pantile roof. Designed in imitation of the C18 character of neighbouring
houses, the only slight difference externally is the chamfering of the internal
angles of the stone window heads, with cornices over, and the poor door.
3 windows to upper floors and 2 on ground floor flanking entrance. Front
to Bridewell Street is similar but of 4 windows, the 3 grouped to left as
part of No 33 of that street. The site on the corner is important.
