Gatehouse with cottage on north-west side, inner gateway to north-east of gatehouse
with two walls enclosing the ground between them to north and south. Circa 1912-14.
Stone rubble with ashlar dressings. High-quality slated roof of small slates to
gatehouse and cottage, with stone-coped gable at right hand end and brick stack at
left-hand end. Gatehouse has tall, wide opening with 4-centred arch; studded
plank double doors with ornate wrought-iron strap-hinges. To right a similar small
door into 2-storeyed section : to right again, 2 slit windows in ground storey and
one in second storey. Cottage to left is 2 windows wide; segmental-headed windows
with 6-pane bevel sashes in ground storey, casements with leaded lights, rising
slightly above eaves-level, in second storey perhaps later. Rear arch of gatehouse
has Curtis arms above and flanking buttresses, the outer faces of these buttressed
in turn. Inner gate simply a large opening with 4-centred arch, set in boundary
well with pitched coping. Connecting walls similar. North wall has large opening,
similar to inner gate but with raised parapet above. In each wall, at north-east
end, small matching doorways with round arches and raised parapets over; doorway
on south (into garden) has plank door with ornate strap-hinges. Information on
