2/53 Cottage about 1½ metres
north of Oaklands

Cottage, possibly fragment of a larger building since demolished. Mid
C18. Chequered red and grey brick with plain tile roof. 2 storeys and
basement, on galleted stone plinth. Plat band. Pyramidal roof. Projecting
stack to right gable end. One segmental-headed 12-pane sash in open box to
centre of first floor. One segmental-headed 3-light casement to centre of
ground floor. Double doors to cellar below, with ventilation slits, down
6 steps. Small 2-light casement to cellar to north. Blocked segmental-
headed window to left gable end with scratch date S.M. 1769. Entrance in
C20 section to rear. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.
