Coal Duty Marker. Circa 1861. Erected to mark the boundary within which London coal duty
was levied. Painted cast iron, approximately 1.5 metres high, square in section with a flat
pyramidal top, chamfered comers and roll-moulded knecking. Raised armorial shield with
painted cross (arms ofthe City of London). Below the shield, an inscription 'Act 14 & 14 VICT
C I ? 4 ?'. The marker is now no longer set vertically, but leans to the left.
