- piers at Pipe Ridware
Hall
GV II
Walls and gate piers. C16/17. Red brick with moulded stone coping.
The walls enclose the north and west sides of a walled garden which formerly
surrounded the now domolished timber framed mansion, Pipe Ridware Hall.
In the north wall is a pair of rusticated square gate piers with ball finials,
and a doorway with Tudor arch. On the inside of the same wall are some
bee boles. A late C18 drawing of the site is published in Stebbing Shaw,
The History and Antiquities of Staffordshire vol. 1 (1798) p. 161.
