House. Circa early to mid C17, extended C18 or C19 and C20.
Plastered timber frame. Thatched roof with gabled ends. Brick
axial stack. Plan: Original house has 2-room plan; larger left
hand room and smaller right hand room, both heated from large
back-to-back fireplaces in central axial stack with lobby
entrance in front. Circa C18 or C19 1-room plan extension on
right end; C20 porch on front and small C20 outshut at rear
right. Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Not quite symmetrical 2-
window SE front with C19 2-light casements with glazing bars. C20
gabled porch at centre with pantile roof and plank door. 1 storey
and attic extension on right with gable-ended pantile roof and
small 2-light casement. 2-light attic casement on left (SW) gable
end. At rear 2 and 3-light casements, French casement on right
and small outshut on left; at centre on first floor small 2-light
diamond mullion window. Interior: Some exposed wall framing. Both
ground floor rooms have chamfered axial beams with hollow step
stops and exposed joists, the left's joists are chamfered and
with hollow step stops. Both rooms have large brick fireplaces
in axial stack with chamfered timber lintels, the left's lintel
with hollow step stops. First floor and attic not inspected.
