21.04.1989 Home Farmhouse

GV II

Farm buildings and granary. 1664 and C18 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Coursed rubble, raised in brick. Slate roofs. Ranged around 3 sides of a crewyard. The east range, coursed rubble, single storey with blank and partly collapsed inner and outer walls, roofs completely removed. The north range, 3 storey to the east, with a lower former barn range to the west, many irregular placed and partially blocked openings to the inner walls. At the north-west corner a former granary with 1664 datestone, possibly re-located. The irregular west range, 2 storey, has rubble lower walls, and partial brick upper walls. This building is reputed to be on the site of the former medieval manor house, but no architectural evidence for this survives.
