Former village school, now community hall. Dated 1821, possibly
incorporating a late C18 building, with mid C19 and mid C20
alterations. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and
slate roofs.
Single storey; 4 and 3 window ranges. L-plan. Higher block, to
right, has quoins, coped gables with kneelers, and 2 coped
stone gable stacks. Central 3-light cross mullioned glazing
bar casement, flanked by single 2-light windows of the same
type, all with stone flush mullions. Right gable has, to
right, a single light transomed window with glazing bars.
Lower left range has a single gable stack. Four 2-light
glazing bar casements with stone flush mullions. To right, a
plank door with stone lintel. Central datestone inscribed
"Erected by public subscription 1821". Left return has six C20
metal framed casements, and to right, a door.
