attached Obelisk

GV II

Bridge. Late C18-early C19. Dressed gritstone with coursed
limestone spandrels. Shallow segmental arch only visible and
with parapet to downstream side. Cambered and offset band
beneath parapet of large herringbone-dressed blocks. Short,
stepped obelisk at Mill Street end.
Spans the tailrace to Victoria Mill, Buxton Road (qv), the
waters pass beneath the mill yard to emerge at this bridge.
