GV II

War memorial. c1920. Ashlar with slate panels. Tapered
octagonal cross shaft with panelled sides and fleurons, topped
with a crucifix set in a quatrefoil. Unequal-sided octagonal
pedestal with inscribed Westmorland slate panels on the 4
larger sides. Square base set in a square of paving,
surrounded by a kerb. The memorial commemorates Belgian
soldiers and refugees who died in Sheffield during the First
World War.
