The Short Blue Public House
II
Public house. Early C18, altered C20 and additions of 1981 to
rear. Stuccoed brick, colourwashed. Pantile roof, black-glazed
to front. 2 storeys; 2-window range. Late C19 public house
facade in form of 2 leaded windows left of recessed door and 3
to right. To left of this is a plank door. First floor with
two 6/6 unhorned sashes. Gabled roof. Truncated internal
gable-end stack to south. Rear with 1981 additions under a
catslide roof.
INTERIOR: ground floor opened into a single space. One
sunk-quadrant bridging beam with bar and tongue stops. Similar
bridging beam to first-floor front room. This room retains
lintel of an C18 horizontal window above present sashes. Butt
purlin roof, many timbers renewed.
