Mooring post. Erected early C19. C18 cast-iron, 32 pounder cannon, buried in the dock side and used as a mooring posts for ships. These cannon were once commonly used for this purpose, after they had become obsolete as weapons. One of the last two surviving mooring posts of this type in Kingston-upon-Hull.
