Former Corporation Pier Station

Former railway station, now offices. Dated 1880. For the
Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Company, by the
company's engineering office. Brick with ashlar dressings and
gabled and hipped slate roof with 2 ridge stacks. Plinth and
rendered first-floor band. 2 storeys; 8-window range of
2-light stone mullioned plain sashes. Above, a central dormer
with shouldered coped gable topped with a finial and
containing a clock, and a trefoil with the company's initials.
Below, to right, a pair of doors with overlight flanked by
three 2-light stone mullioned plain sashes. Beyond, to left, a
similar door and overlight. This building was built to provide
rail services linked to the Humber Ferry which plied from
Corporation Pier.
