Built 1893 of sandstone with rock face finish. Fishscale pattern tiles decorate the walls (extended 1956 and 1989). Tiled roofs. Coped and gabled brick chimney stack with ashlar detailing. Wooden louvred ventilation turret on top of the pyramidal auditorium roof, capped with an ogee shaped cupola. The rear of the auditorium has a timber-framing effect gable end with shutters to the lower part. The gable is hooded by bargeboards on brackets. (Photo Nov 2013).
