Primary school. 1880, with mid C20 alterations. By ER Robson.

turret with single round-arched opening. 2 ridge and single

smaller segment-arched windows in the same style. Below, a

Hipped central rear projection has 2 large 3-light cross
casements and below, 2 double sashes with wooden mullions.
Below these, single storey full width mid C20 brick addition
with coped parapet. Beyond, on either side, a single window on
each floor.
INTERIOR not inspected.
Almost all the early schools built by the Sheffield School
Board were designed by local architects. ER Robson, architect
to the London School Board, was employed to design the Central
Schools and School Board Offices (qv), as well as 2 board
schools, of which this is one. The other is at Heeley Bank
(qv), and dates from 1880.
(Researches by G Hague, Sheffield City Council).
