GV II
Mill house. 1817-18. For George Green, miller. Brick with
painted ashlar dressings and corrugated asbestos roofs with 2
gable stacks. Another gable stack to rear wing. 2 storeys; 3
window range. L-plan. Windows have wedge lintels with double
keystones. Central doorway with round-arched rubbed brick head
and fanlight to renewed door. On each side, a 16-pane sash.
Above, a renewed central window flanked by larger 16-pane
sashes. Rear wing, 2 storeys.
Slate plaque at the front, commemorating George Green,
1793-1841, mathematician and author, who lived here.
