Tomb of George Smyth, 7th Viscount Strangford, died 1857. Gothic canopy of Portland stone over sandstone slab, guarded by Carrara marble angels by Edward Physick. Two cusped arches per side, carried on sandstone colonnettes, with drip-moulds above. Angle crocketed finials. Inscription on north end to Percy, 8th and last Viscount Strangford (d.1869). History: a Tory MP, Strangford was a prominent member of the Young England movement and is believed to be the model for Disraeli's novel Coningsby.
