Commercial building, probably shops and offices; unoccupied at
time of survey (1991). c1870, altered. Punch-dressed sandstone
ashlar, slate roof. Venetian style. Shallow rectangular plan
backing onto River Brun.
3 storeys over double basement, 5 windows plus a single-window
splayed corner to the right; with a chamfered plinth,
sillbands to all floors, stone bracketed eaves and dogtooth
cornice. The ground floor has segmental-pointed openings
including doorways to the 4th bay and the corner, both with
carved canopies on squat corbelled colonnettes which have
crocketed caps, coupled windows in the 5th bay with similar
colonnettes and canopy, and single, coupled and single windows
in the 1st 3 bays (the 1st of these altered as a doorway), all
with polychrome relieving arches. Both upper floors have
4-pane sashed windows with chamfered jambs, and lintels
decorated with roundels, and those at 1st floor with
segmental-pointed hood-moulds which have foliated stops.
Hipped roof with one ridge chimney.
Rear: 2 basement storeys with relieving arches over the
windows (variously altered); and 4-pane sashed windows to the
upper floors.
