Pair of cottages. Present structure appears to date from later C17 to early C18.
Local Weald stone; brick dressings, quoins and dentil eaves cornice. Plain tile hipped
roof; centre brick stack. Lower rear parallel range of matching stone below; raised
probably in C19; red brick first floor and plain tile roof. Two storeys, Little
Sandrock Cottage with cellar opening to Courts Mount Road. Front elevations of two
window bays and centre doorway each; inner three-light and outer two-light windows;
renewed leaded lights. Segmentally headed openings on ground floor.

Interior: ground floor rooms each with chamfered beam, in Rose Cottage with stop as
well; each with ground floor inglenook fireplace surround with timber bressumer;
side purlin roof with strutted queen post roof. Ledged doors with smiths' hinges.

Deeds to Little Sandrock Cottage include an indenture dated 1605 which refers to
"a little house or tenement (one of two) ..... upon a hill called Shepherd's Hill
near Haslemere."
