Castle House

Town house. C18. Roughcast render on probable rubble with
stucco or render surrounds to openings; steep dry slate roof
heightened probably late C19 with 2 late C19 gabled dormers
with shaped barge boards and terracotta finials. Single-depth
plan plus rear extension; 2 rooms at the front flanking a near
central entrance hall.
2 storeys plus attic; nearly symmetrical 2-window front. Late
C19 4-pane horned sashes. Doorway nearer right-hand window
approached by 3 stone steps; 6-panel door with the top 2
panels later glazed, all the openings with eared architraves
with shaped heads.
INTERIOR: not inspected but may retain original or C19
features of interest.
