SO 74 SW CODDINGTON CODDINGTON VINEYARD

Cider-house. Probably C18 and partly rebuilt early and later C19. Red brick on stone rubble
base. Plain clay tile roofs at three levels with gabled ends. PLAN: Long rectangular range
with cider-press at north west end with gable-end entry from higher ground level; cider-mill
in centre section and what was possibly a cartshed at the south east end, now a garage.
EXTERIOR: South west front: Single storey, 2-storey centre section; long 3-window range
of metal-frame 2-light casements with glazing bars, C20 plank door to right of centre; left
section blind.North west gable end has doorway from higher ground level with plank door
on left and adjoining 3-light window at centre. INTERIOR: The centre section has a
chamfered cross-beam with run-out stops and a large horse-driven stone cider-mill.The north
west section has a king-post and collar truss with struts and curved cruck-like braces under
collar; and a cider-press.
