House. c1905 most probably by the firm of Niven and Wigglesworth in Queen Anne
style. Built of red brick on the ground floor with pebbledashed 1st floor and
tiled roof with 3 brick stacks. 2 storeys and attics 3 windows and lx3-light
hipped dormer. Right side has projecting gable with oval window having scrolled
surround. Below are 2X2 storey octagonal turrets with 5 lights each connected
by moulded wooden stringcourses. To the left of the gable is an Ipswich window
on the 1st floor and 3 light oriel on wooden brackets to ground floor. Half
glazed oak door with Decorative panelling. Left side elevation has attic 4
light oriel. Right side elevation has similar attic oriel and splayed staircase
window. Rear elevation has lx3 light hipped dormer, 2 casements to 1st floor
and French window leading to iron balcony above projecting lounge with 6 light
oriel window flanked by pebbledashed walls. Interior has a series of 2 panelled
doors with original brass door locks. Staircase with Queen Anne style panelling
and wooden balusters. Front room has original fireplace with eaved architrave,
deep cornice, dado rails and the bay windows have window seats. Morning room
has a fireplace with cambered stone surround with fleur de lys surrounded wooden
fireplace with cornice and brackets. Lounge has deep ovolo moulded cornice
and a fireplace with wooden pilasters and central panel. Kitchen has built
in wooden dresser and servants bells.
