Substantial farmhouse, probably is half of C17, with early C20 gabled, 2 storey
projection from left bay. Two storeys, 3 bays visible of original house. Hipped
tiled roof has large ridge stack of 3 main flues with rebated front angles and
back centre cornice in several planes. Timber framed with tile hanging on 1st
floor, coursed rubble with red brick dressings below, all now whitewashed. Brick
dentil cornice to ground floor. Small leaded casements. Modern gabled porch at
right, and a small one-storey right extension formerly the dairy. Irregular rear
elevation with 2 gabled dormers breaking eaves, some visible posts.
Inside shows much exposed framing including kitchen and parlour ceilings, the latter
with chamfered joists; stepped stops to all chamfers. Stout beams including originals
to both kitchen and parlour fireplaces. Clear carpenters' marks, crowsfeet and
loop types.
Early C20 wing has oversailing timber framed lst floor and gable with oriel, random
rubble below.
