Farmhouse. Rear wing and outbuildings. Late C17 and early and
mid C19. Brick, pebbledashed and whitewashed. Gabled and lean-to
plain tile and slate roofs. Brick plinth. First and second floor
cogged bands. Coped gables. Single C17 shouldered curved coped
gable. 6 gable stacks, one of them buttressed. 2 storeys plus
garrets, 3 bays wide. L-plan with double depth rear wing.
Windows are mainly mid C19 glazing bar sashes. South west front
has 2 large sashes with segmental heads. Above, central glazing
bar stair light. Flanked at higher level by single larger sashes.
North west front has to left, rear wing and wash house and to
right, wing with shaped gable. To left, C20 door and to right,
Yorkshire sash with segmental head. In return angle, early C19
Classical cast iron porch and door with overlight. Above, sash
with segmental head. To its right, late C19 sash. North east
side has to left, Yorkshire sash and to right, casement and C20
bay window. Above, a casement. Rear elevation has off-centre
door flanked by a sash and a casement, all with segmental heads.
To right, wash house has Yorkshire sash and door. Above, to
right, a sash and a Yorkshire sash. Above again, to left,
Yorkshire sash to garret. Shallow pitch late C17 dogleg stair
with landings. Square newels. Moulded handrail. Vase shaped
splat balusters. Softwood attic stair with stud partition wall.
Principal rafter roof with tenoned purlins. Late C18 Adam style
hob grate with curved back and cartouches with figures. Ogee
shaped basket. Plain ashlar surround. Late C19 fireplace with
marble surround. 2 C18 2 panel doors.
