(1). One of the Belvoir Angels headstones. Slate, square head with incised angel, flanked to left by hourglass. (Crossbones would have been at right). Incised date 171(x). 4 lines verse. To John Mitchel, senior d. Mar 3rd 1717 aet 57. and wife, implied by the poem. –A loving Husband and a vertuous Wife / Here lies confined both to leave this life / And though their bodys they return to dust / Their souls I hope are dwelling with the just-.
