WEST SANDGATE

Dated 1692 but much altered circa 1900 as public house. 2 storeys and attic
painted brick. Flush stone quoins. Heavy modillion bracketed, moulded cornice,
brick parapet with stone coping swept to articulating panelled stone piers.
3 pedimented dormers. 5 windows 1st floor, flush architrave framed sashes, flat
gauged brick arches with moulded stone cornices set over. Public house front
on ground floor circa 1900. Frieze and projecting cornice with shaped coping
over end doors. Windows divided by pilaster strips. Shaped gable to south end
of block and 2 storey wing with gable end pantile roof. Much altered interior,
some cased beams.
