War memorial. Circa 1919 by Ayton, Blackhill. Tall granite obelisk on tapered plinth with gadrooned cornice, and base of two steps.
Inscription on plinth ERECTED BY THE OWNERS /OFFICIALS AND WORKMEN /OF SOUTH PONTOP COLLIERY/IN MEMORY OF/ OUR VILLAGE COMRADES/ WHO FELL IN/ THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918. with motto on base.
