GV II

House. Probably early C19 with mid C20 extension and modernisation. Flemish
bond brick of dark ochre colour with red brick used around the openings and a
red brick band at first floor level. Brick stacks and chimneyshafts with
chimneypots. Slate roof.

Plan: Double depth plan house facing west onto The Green. Front and back
rooms either side of central entrance hall and main stair. Each end has front
and back end stacks. C20 garage on right end with studio room above is set
back very slightly from main front.

2 storeys.

Exterior: Main house has symmetrical 2-window front of 16-pane sashes under
low segmental brick arches. Central front doorway contains C20 part-glazed 2-
panel door with fluted timber doorcase under a flat hood with moulded edges.
Plain deep eaves. Low pitch roof is hipped both ends.

Interior: Was not available for inspection at the time of this survey.

Adam Cottage is one of an attractive and varied group of buildings fronting
onto The Green.
