ST 96 NE HEDDINGTON THE COMMON, Heddington Wick

5/133 Marsh End Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, mid C18 red brick, probably recasing earlier timber-
framed building. Steep slate roof hipped to north, half-hipped to
south with brick ridge stack. Two storeys and attic. Rubble stone
plinth, ashlar flush quoins and nogged brick eaves. Three-window
range of flush cyma-moulded stone mullion windows, 3, 3 and 2-light
above, 3-light, 3-light and door in moulded flush surround with
hood on brackets below. Reused studded oak plank door. North end
wall under roof hip has exposed timber-framing. A C19 rear wing to
north west with slate roof, rubble stone ground floor and imitation
timber-framing above.
