Miller's house. Early C18, remodelled early C19. Timber-framed and
rendered, partially cased in painted brick. Plain tile roof with lower
courses and verges in gault tiles. Welsh Slate roof to rear outshuts.
Three bays with end and off-centre ridge stacks. Later stack to north
gable end. Former lobby entry converted to central entrance directly
into room. Lean-to additions in two stages to rear. C19-early C20
arched iron porch with corrugated cladding and modern glazed doors.
6-panel door. Ground floor 16-pane sashes under segment arches. First
floor 12-pane sashes in flush architraves. One three-light casement
to end left. Attached to right, a single storey range. Rear elevation,
1st floor two early C18 three-light casements with leaded lights and
original ironwork. Interior: an unusually unspoilt example of C18
"country" interior, especially at ground floor. Chamfered spine beam
with tongue stops. Central room paved in gault pamments and brick.
Skirting board and dado rail. Large arched timber fireplace with
mantel shelf. Cupboard to left with HL hinges. Half-glazed door to
parlour, vertically boarded to stairs and other rooms, all with long
hinges. Parlour (to right) C19 brown veined marble fireplace to end
wall. Original fireplace blocked; pair of cupboards to right. Gault
pamments and brick floor. End room to left dado rail. Spine seam
boxed-in. Timber fireplace with brackets to mantel shelf. First floor
room above parlour has small timber fireplace with paired brackets to
shelf and reeded pilasters. Timber window seat. The windmill which
stood above the house has been demolished.
