Farmhouse, later C18. Watershot coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone
slate roof with gable chimneys and one ridge chimney. Double-depth 3-bay
plan, 2 storeys, with single-storey extension at east end. Almost
symmetrical, in very plain style with undecorated square stone surrounds to
all openings: opposed doors in front and rear walls; south or garden front
has 2 windows each floor, those to the left of the door of 2 lights those to
the right of 3 lights, all with flush mullions and sashes, rear to yard has
similar windows, 2 at ground floor and 3 above, all of 2 lights except that
to left which is 3 lights. Extension to east of rear has plain board door
at junction and a 6-pane fixed window. (West gable wall reconstructed after
destruction by thunderbolt). Interior not inspected. Listed as good
example of very plain local type of the period.
