Former farmhouse, stables, cottages etc., probably originally C17, altered at
various dates in C18 and C19, part offices and part now (1984) in course of
restoration and conversion as arts centre. Sandstone rubble with quoins,
stone slate roof. L-shaped plan forming south-east corner of courtyard. Two
storeys, the left (east) range perhaps originally a barn, altered as farmhouse
in early C18, with plain doorways, various small chamfered mullion windows
(mostly 3 lights) and blocked openings including breathers. Rear similar.
Right (south) range formerly 2 or 3 cottages, probably later C18, with larger
flush-mullion windows and 3 inserted doors. Interior: large chamfered beams
visible in east range and south east corner.
