Farmhouse. c.1782 with C19 and C20 additions. Coursed and
squared rubble with slate roof. Ashlar dressings. First floor
and eaves bands, dentillated eaves, coped gables. Single
transverse ridge stack. 2 storeys plus attics, 5 bays. South
front has central projecting pedimented gable flanked by 2 storey
half-pedimented wings. Central Doric portico flanked by single
mullioned casements. Beyond, each wing has a round headed
casement, that to left partly blocked. Above, 3 casements, the
central one smallest. Above again, Diocletian window in
pediment. Rear elevation has to left, late C19 lean-to stable
block, 5 bays, brick with slate roof. To left, 4 casements and
to right, C20 door. To right garage door and to right again,
single storey stable with door flanked by single casements.
Above, 5 casements. Above again, single casement in pediment.
This building was probably the Home Farm to Papplewick Hall.
