Office block. 1931. Architects Messrs Joseph (Principal Designer F Milton Cashmore).
Sculptor WCH King. Portland stone. Flat roof. Eleven to fifteen storeys high.
To river:- a symmetrical facade of 17 bays, stepped inwards to the upper storeys
and culminating in a short central tower with clock and buttresses with inset
sculpted figures. Open round arched arcade to ground floor. Square headed windows
set in giant relieving arches rising from nineth to eleventh floors in fourth
and fourteenth bays and to returns. Arched window below clock and to returns
of tower. Metal framed casements. Returns to left and right. Strand frontage
(Nos 76-88 consec) not of special interest.
