Ornamental garden steps 50 metres
south-west of Harlaxton Manor
GV II*

Ornamental garden steps. c1838-1844. Probably by William Burn
for Gregory Gregory. Ashlar. Straight flight with turned
balusters, moulded coping and square pedestals with strapwork,
with 2 intermediate landings. The lower flight is flanked on
each side by 4 stone seats on corbels. At the foot, a wider
landing flanked by solid balustrades and strapwork pilasters,
2 of them topped with small statues of hearaldic beasts. The
lowest flight, below the landing, is divided by square
pedestals topped with urns with volute bases. On either side,
short balustrades with strapwork pedestals.
This building appears within Harlaxton Manor Gardens which are
on the Gardens Register at grade II*.
